Every hunter (including out-of-state hunters) born on or after Sept. 2, 1971, must successfully complete a Texas Hunter Education Course. Minimum age of certification is 9 years of age.

Who is exempt from hunters education Texas?

There are some exemptions where individuals in Texas are exempted from the hunter education requirements. These exceptions include individuals who were born before September 2, 1971, as well as young hunters between the ages of 9 and 16, as long as they are accompanied by a properly certified adult of at least 17 years old, who holds a hunting license in Texas or is exempt from it.

On average, students can complete the online course in approximately three hours, not including time spent on quizzes, exams.

BeASafeHunter does not issue Customer ID Number or your Hunter Education Certification Card, the State does. 
Visit Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Education Registration System to locate your existing Customer ID Number or create a new one or visit a local license agent for more information.

Is the Beasafehunter hunters education course approved by the state of Texas?

Yes. The Texas Department of Natural Resources has approved and accepted the Beasafehunter Course.

How can I get a replacement for my Texas Hunter Education Course Certificate ?

You can replace your temporary Certificate of Completion online through your Dashboard. To print a copy of your Hunter Education Certification Card, go to Education Registration System. To UPDATE/CHANGE address/other info. on your certificate, call 512-389-4999 to update your record.

Must I reside in Texas to take Beasafehunter hunter education course?

Yes. The online Hunter Education Course is reserved to Texas resident. 

What passing score must I get in the quizzes and final test in order to be certified in Texas hunters course?

The passing mark for the unit quizzes is 80%. If you don’t pass the quiz, you must re-study that particular section and then re-take the quiz.

The final exam passing mark is 76% and you have two attempts to succeed.

Is my Hunter Education Certificate good in other states?

Every U.S. state that demands a Hunter Education Certificate accepts the Texas Hunter Education Certificate. As well, Texas will accept Hunter Education Certificates from other states that conform to IHEA requirements.

You should follow your safety course in the State where you are resident.

Is there a time limit to complete an approved Hunter Safety Course?

You must spend a minimum of seven (7) hours studying the hunter safety course, but you can take more time if you wish. You will then have as long as you need to complete the final exam.
