Safe handling of bow and arrows
The "No Dry Fire Rule"
Dry firing refers to releasing a bow string without an arrow being nocked. This can occur accidentally or if someone unfamiliar with bows pulls back and releases the string out of curiosity.
The violent recoil from a dry fire can cause cuts or bruises, eye injuries from broken bow parts, or hand or arm injuries. Dry firing a bow can also cause severe damage to the bow, especially compound bows. The energy normally transferred to the arrow instead stresses the bow's components, potentially leading to broken limbs, damaged cams, or snapped strings.
The "No Dry Fire Rule" is essential for maintaining equipment integrity and ensuring user safety in archery.
